Teacher Leadership Workshops 2019
This year, as part of the Professional Learning and Leadership Team’s Teacher Leadership Programme offer, we are prototyping a suite of professional learning workshops, focusing on current educational developments and specific elements of practice that could inform an enquiring approach. This is part of the enhanced offer to promote teacher leadership more widely across Scotland.
These workshops have already been offered to individuals who have engaged with the Teacher Leadership or Supporting Teacher Leadership Programme. However we would also like to extend the invitation to attend these workshops to teachers who are not engaged in one of our programmes but are engaging in enquiry or are curious about enquiry/teacher leadership.
Finalised details of these workshops can be found in the events section of the new Education Scotland Professional Learning and Leadership online resource under the ‘teacher leadership’ programme filter. Teachers can sign up for the workshops through the Eventbrite links on a first-come-first-served basis.
You will see that the twilight workshops are held over 2019/2020, free of charge, delivered by a range of professionals and held in venues across the six Regional Improvement Collaboratives (RICs). Teachers are welcome to attend any workshop in any location.
There is also some capacity for workshops in the Northern Alliance Learning Hub at Aberdeen University to be accessed through video conference or Skype. Teachers should get in touch nearer the time if this is something they wish to engage with.
As a means of sharing professional learning with a colleague from their school or cluster context, we recommend teachers come to these events in pairs. However several teachers from the same context may attend.
