This is an Education Scotland leadership programme.
This programme is designed to support aspiring middle leaders in developing their understanding of the roles of middle leadership and the skills required to carry out the key aspects of these roles.
In line with the advice and guidance from the Scottish and UK Governments, we have paused all face-to-face professional learning and leadership activity including this programme. We have prepared a set of frequently asked questions which we hope will answer some of the questions you may have at this time. We will update these with additional information as we have it.
Read our FAQs for information on changes to our programmes as a result of Covid-19.
Participants will engage in self-evaluation to determine their next steps in their professional learning. They will also develop confidence and experience in the use of action learning sets as a structured method to address complicated issues by working collaboratively.
This is a facilitated learning session which provides valuable opportunities for participants to learn about ongoing support in their leadership journey as well as providing the time to create new links with colleagues from different sectors and local authorities.
Teachers who aspire to a middle leadership post.
Due to the Covid-19 situation, the AML programme this session will be delivered online starting with an initial webinar focusing on the roles of middle leadership on 1 October 2020 from 16.00 to 17.30.
There will then be a ‘touchpoint blether’ in November/December followed by a ‘sharing the learning blether’ in February/March 2021. Dates for the blethers will be communicated once sign-up is complete. Sign up will open on 20 August, details will be on our Events page.
If you are unable to join the AML programme this term we will be running a second cohort in March.
